Brisket from the Oven

One 12-14 lb whole brisket

Your favorite steak rub (I use Longhorn Steak house seasoning)


Coat the outside of the brisket heavily with steak or other favorite rub at least 6 hrs prior to cooking. 12 hrs is preferred.

Place brisket fat side up in a large roaster with a rack. Cover.

Place in preheated oven at 250 degrees for 10 hours

Remove the cover and increase temperature to 300 degrees for 1 hour

Remove brisket and let rest for 20 minutes.

Brisket should be fork tender with a crisp exterior. Slice and serve.
