Bulgari’s new Divas’ Dream Peacock watch trio struts its stuff with a colorful fusion of watchmaking, jeweling, and the exotic métier d’art of feather marquetry, an ancient decorative technique practiced by a Parisian plumasserie artisan who works with the brand.
“Besides the serpenti (snake), the peacock is another symbol we like to relate to because it is an animal that has been celebrated by royalty for millennia, since pharaonic times,” says Antoine Pin, managing director of Bulgari’s watch division in Switzerland. “It is probably one of the greatest expressions of the beauty of nature and, of course, for us as a jeweler, it’s a massive source of inspiration.”
