Hot on the heels of last month’s debut of the Egerie ladies’ collection, Vacheron Constantin has added a jewelry version, set with 1,344 diamonds totaling 11.95 carats. That includes 246 diamonds on the case, 588 diamonds on the five-row link bracelet and 510 diamonds on the dial, including the ring around the moon phase indicator. There is another, rose-cut diamond set into the crown, which is positioned off-center, between 1 and 2 o’clock, next to the off-centered moon phase indicator.

The off-centered subdial is a design code used in 19th-century Vacheron pieces, and often seen now on pieces in its Historique collection. The hands are meant to resemble sewing needles, in reference to the hand craftsmanship that goes into finishing a couture gown, with beading, embroidery or lace. The calligraphic numerals are meant to resemble lace.
